Research labs

The UFV has an infrastructure for the development of teaching and research activities in Botany. It is a concern of the Department of Plant Biology (DBV) and of the Program to avoid duplication of equipment and favor the acquisition of multi-user equipment. Thus, in an integrative process, the laboratories of the DBV have been used to conduct researches of the Botany and Plant Physiology Programs and also of other postgraduate programs of the UFV.

Since 2009, the Department of Plant Biology (DBV) has been installing facilities in the Center for Biological Sciences (CCB), called CCB II. There was a substantial increase in area construction and significant improvement in infrastructure for teaching and research activities and comfort for users.

The CCB II is fully operational: the administrative structure, two auditoriums, meeting rooms, theoretical and dissertation/thesis defense rooms, practical lecture labs and research laboratories in the following areas: Plant Anatomy and Morphogenesis; Molecular Plant Physiology; Plant Nutrition and Metabolism.

In addition to the facilities in CCB II, DBV has Laboratories in other units of the Department: Plant Systematics Laboratory, in the Herbarium building; Laboratory of Ecology and Evolution of Plants, in the Botanic Garden; Ecophysiology and Phycology Laboratories, at the Unit for Plant Growth - UCP.

The Program also counts on the indispensable support of the Laboratories: Tissue Culture and Molecular Biology, the Institute of Biotechnology Applied to Agriculture - BIOAGRO / UFV, and Forest Restoration, Department of Forestry / UFV.
