General information about the BVE641 Ecology of the Cerrado

Dear, good afternoon First of all, I must say that it was a pleasure to offer you Cerrado Ecology in 2019! Everything went very well. Some important information: 

1- The report must be submitted until 05/27/2019. 

2 - The introduction must present the Cerrado, its physiognomies, its concepts, determining climate, determinant soil, determination by fire, the presented models. 

3- Materials and methods should bring the methods used for the species-area curves, abundance distributions, profiles, biological spectrum, coverage values, similarity of Sørensen and WPGMA. 

4- The results should bring the species-area curves of woody and herbaceous; the distributions of woody abundance, the profiles, the biological spectra of the 9 plots, the total coverage of the 6 plots (percentages and also put in the Braun-Blanquet coverage scale) for each plots. Calculate also the percentage of coverage for the total of the 6 plots (add the coverage of each species in each plot and dvidir the total by 6, do not need to put on the Braun-Blanquet scale). Put the dendrogram generated by the WPGMA and the initial matrix of similarities. 

5- The discussion should bring the interpretation of the results. Since we do not have questions or hypotheses, we just have to interpret the results we had. Compare the species-area curves and abundance distributions that have comparative statistical tests. 

6 - After the literature used, the list of species with respective life forms of Raunkiaer should be included in a list of species. After the list, put the photographic guide of all species that you have images. Please exchange pictures among students to make the list as complete as possible. 

7- The report should not be more than 25 pages by the end of the literature (attachments are free). The form of delivery is in PDF on a pendrive or personally in my office (I do not want to have pendrives, I want the files delivered personally or leave the pendrive that I return later). I suggest you get together to get organized. Time is short!
